Post Zihuatenejo
Zihuatanejo in Mexico is the fourth largest city in the province of Guerrero. It is situated on the coast of the Pacific ocean about 145 miles (240 km) northwest of Acapulco and only 5 km from the modern tourist city of Ixtapa.

Zihuatanejo sits in the state of Guerrero in the Mexican Riveria in the southwestern corner of Mexico. This city has only been going by this name for a couple of centuries (and previously went by Cihuatlán, then Ciguatanejo).

Once a matriarchal society filled with gold and gems, Zihuatanejo now has a reputation as a premier fishing spot, as it is situated in a bay guarded by a barrier—it’s disputed whether this protection is man-made or natural.

Zihuatanejo can easily be reached by highway, bus and air and has its own international airport. Flights with major airlines such as US Airways, American Airlines, Air Canada and Northwest Airlines are available from many cities in the United States and Canada. There are also flights available from Mexico City and several provincial cities.

And that’s the kind of accommodation we offer at “Angela’s Hotel & Hostel” – it's more than a hotel room; it's your home away from home.

Post Re: Zihuatenejo
Although Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo are right next to each other, they couldn't be more different. Ixtapa is a lively, modern infrastructure comprised of luxury resorts and residential areas residing on beautiful beaches along the Pacific coast. A photo stop at Playa Quieta, where you will be able to view the magnificent island of Ixtapa, is a must. Zihuatanejo, an Indian word meaning "river of the yellow water," is a small bay and resort discovered by tourists in 1940. At the time, the only access to the village was by the sea.

Your visit to this small town will provide you with some of the most breathtaking sights, including the beautiful Sierra Madre mountains as a backdrop.
