Boby’s, Avenida Francisco Madero. Zona centro. Between Articulo 123 and Boulevard Benito Juarez. Traditionally one of the local’s favorites, particularly on Wednesdays when they have 2 for 1 cerveza, but Zky Blue opening across the street will cause it to have to rethink its strategy. Fortunately, it has the same management. Mostly men, no transvestis allowed; has seen increased Bear patronage. Two bars, friendly. A Kenito favorite! But being monitored….

Cameleon, Don't be confused by the old sign, "Club Colibri" Avenida Revolution at Calle 2/Calle Segundo. Upstairs, enter off Revolution even though the bar takes the entire second floor of the corner. Daily happy hour. Pretty large, nice open feel with window seats open to the street below. Regular shows. Friendly, lots of specials. A Kenito Favorite! This place has a solid reputation for being safe, honest, and fun.

El Closet, Avenida Revolution. This place received a BLACK BALL a few years ago for ripping off gringos. We need a current report.

Club 41 Avenida Revolucion. We need specific information about this bar!

El Ranchero Bar, Plaza Santa Cecilia #769, between Calle 2 and Revolucion/Constitution. This is the Plaza where the landmark Stainless Steel Arch is located, between Calle 1 and 2/Avenida Revolution and Avenida Constitution. This is a popular cruisy drinking bar most weekend nights, but you can also find a smaller crowd during the week; the most likely place to find hustlers (mayates) and for that reason has had a less than glowing reputation unless you are looking for that. Long colorful history. Transvesti friendly. Lesbian owned, but very much a gay bar. Most of the action is upstairs, but for the practiced cruiser, also look down stairs. 2 for 1 cerveza Wednesdays; generally cheap drinks all the time.

El Taurino Bar, Corner of Calle 1 and Avenida Constitution.  (Avenida Constitution runs parallel to Avenida Revolution, one block to the west.)  Old style neighborhood Mexican bar, and a good place for meeting a real “local.” We don't really have a problem with Taurino, but it is not a place for a novice to wander around on foot or be alone.

Hawaii, Plaza Santa Cecilia, #768, between Calle 2 and Revolucion/Constitution. Owner says: Hawaii bar its unique to others bars in Tijuana because it's open the 24 hrs, 365 days in the year. Watch the famous "Diamante Travesti Show" and "Strip Show." Also you can have fun with really hot people and dance all night long. Shows, private rooms, dancing, nice people, good music, clean, safe, good service... and the best of all NO COVER! A new concept in Bar gays. Thanks to the management for contacting us!

Mike’s Disco, Avenida Revolucion #1220, (at Calle 6A) on the east side of Revolucion, downstairs between Calle 5 and 6. Only gay after 10 PM, but they have some decent transvesti drag and strip shows at midnight, and dancing after. One of the originals, often overlooked these days. This longtime venue of Tijuana gay nightlife is still a good place to find many Mexicans who like to dance to Spanish and English pop songs and watch excellent drag shows. Parking structure a few doors south, and worth utilizing. Telephone: 664-685-3534

Los Equipales, Calle 7/Galena #8236, east of Avenida Revolution and across the street from Jai Alai fonton. Drag, or “Transvesti” show starts at midnight, Fridays and Saturdays. Dancing after, usually around 2 AM. Most of the action here is after the shows when the dancing begins.

Fusion, Calle Larroque #213 - On the back/north side of Plaza Viva Mall. If you walk across the border, you will exit on Calle Amistad (the same street as McDonalds) virtually at Larroque. Proceed straight on Larroque. This is the combination of the clubs Extasis and Cagamamas. What once was two bars, Extasis and Cagamama eventually joined hands and now is a full marriage. You can enter either and walk back and forth. The Extasis side still has hunky guy strippers with a full on strip show weekends around 2 AM and modern lighting and sound. Some nights there will be a $6 or so cover, and drinks are comp after that. The action is usually best after 10 PM on Friday or Saturday. The X also has a darkroom with several neighborhoods; some with small private rooms, but all very dark, and videos and cruising on dark, winding catwalks. Can be very busy with lots of action on weekends and other special nights. Cagamama still puts on transvesti shows at 9 PM and Midnight in a good nightclub-like setting.  Full bars, dancing, club music; popular with both Mexicanos and NorteAmericanos.

Terraza 9 (Disco Bar) Calle 5a, near Revolucion. 10/09 Report says that this place is now merely "gay friendly" but not really gay. We will keep it here to see if there are any changes.

Villa Garcia, Plaza Santa Cecilia #751.  Next door to El Ranchero…same thing without the “class.” Some people like it, some don’t. Transvesti friendly.

Zky Blue, 735 Avenida Francisco Madero. Zona centro. This is between Articulo 123 and Boulevard Benito Juarez, and directly across the street from Bobi’s Bar. As of 10/09 and confirmed 10/10, the darkroom may be closed to some enforcement issues. This was one of Tijuana’s glitzy bars when it first opened in 2008, boasting of the latest sound and light technology; strippers, VIP room, dark room, and a live shower on the main floor. Young and hip clientele. As of 10/2010, we are advised they charge a cover. Parking lot right in front if space available. A Kenito favorite!

What's going on with Zky Blue? Was in TJ last Friday night. Zky Blue was only half full downstairs, almost empty upstairs. Dark room was completely locked. Management change? Dark room closed permanently? Anybody know?

I have not been to Zky Blue for a while, but I am hoping that this is just a cycle they are going through. Tourism is down everywhere and lots of locals are not venturing out in certain areas at night.

Perhaps this is adding to the recent popularity of places like Cameleon, upstairs at 2nd and Revolution. That as opposed to the slightly "back street" nature of Zky Blue and Boby's

The newer bars seem to do more promotion and are hot for a while... as in the case of a new place near Plaza Rio called "All Access." They are hosting a Halloween "Freakshow" that I am expecting information to soon be posted here.

The most important thing seems to be the stability of the ownership. Do they have the resources to stay open even during the slow, dry periods. I would expect Sky Blue and Boby's (who share ownership I understand) to be financially strong enough to weather the seasonal storms. Likewise Cameleon and Fusion. I can't say about the others in town,

they got a HUGE fine due to the exxesive under age kids in the bar,yeah they got busted UU , also there was a lot of crime in the darkroom so they started closing one door then they just shut it down for the best, ppl in tj seem not prepared to handle it yet, and well due to the fact that the bar cant handdle more unde age goers it looks EMPTY !!!! so yeah !!! we expect to see zky empty for a month or so while the population starts to go back !!! i hoppe.

that aside like kenito stated, zky is way in the middle of the back street and sum ppl dont like that, bobbys well it has its ppl still ^^

camaleon its getting more and more ppl in the 20's and 30's, club 41 is just making a name of its own and the city is hosting partys left n right.

all acces is by far the most upscale club in tj, craving the old KEWIWIS clientelle located in zona rio, thou loads of str8 women go they have by FAR the BEST STRIPPERS in town !!!

the FREAKSHOW is a party that wil be goin on in all acces, craving more of a non mainstream music scene ppl there will be 80's 90's and trance !

oh and la terraza is no longer a gay club thou they are very open to gay bussines ^^ AND CLOSSET IS CLOSED DOWN YET AGAIN

On Halloween night, Zky Blue was full and fun, and the dark room was open again. Was this just for Halloween, or will Zky Blue regularly return to its former glory?

I noticed that Hawaii is omitted from the list. I've met some really hot guys in there.
