“Relatively small but very nice hostel”

I stayed in Ensenada for four days and altough the hostel might not be state of the art in every way and be lacking a proper table to eat at or a television it makes up for that with a very nice atmosphere. The staff is very nice and easy going and they have a great book shelf for reading.

“Not a real hostel, more of a converted house”

This is the only hostel option in Ensenada. It is not a real hostel, more of a house that has been converted into a hostel. Stayed in a 6 bed dorm on first floor right next to the kitchen. There was another 6 bed dorm connected to our dorm with no door seperating the rooms. You hadto go through the second dorm room to use the only bathroom on the floor. Sleep quality very bad as in the morning the staff are quite loud making breakfast etc in the next room. They charge US$15 per person, and as there were two of us we found a great hotel for only a few dollars more.

wish we knew about this place our first night in Ensenada. The staff are very friendly and have great advice about exploring Baja. Very welcoming atmosphere. Carlos, the owner, treated us as if we were old friends stopping in for a visit. Highly recommended.

Ensenada backpacker gave me the chance to discover Ensenada as it should be. Carlos the owner is very firendly and was of great advise about where to go and what to do. A traveler himself he knows what backpackers search for. His hostel is a place you feel at home, clean, with all amenities and well located!
Ensenada as a city has also lots to share and deserves to be visited weither its for partying, shopping, wine touring or simply sun baking... check it out!

I had a great time at Ensenada Backpacker and i feel really lucky to have picked Ensenada Backpacker as the first stop of my first road trip in Baja. It turned out to be a wonderful introduction to charming Baja, thanks to all the fantastic and practical suggestions and tips from Carlos, the friendly owner of the hostel.
