Post Demonstrations and celebrations for recognition in Tijuana
Bringing awareness and focusing attention to the defense of human rights of the GLBT community in Baja California, hundreds of activists caravanned through the main streets of downtown Tijuana on October 30th, 2010.

Organizers took this opportunity to show discontent and rejection of the recent discriminatory initiatives taken By the Baja California legislative Congress, which puts in jeopardy same-sex marriage, as recognized by the National Federal government in Mexico City.

Further proof that we live in a state that continues to discriminate and trampling civil rights of gay and lesbian people of this state in the north, a big difference to Mexico City, capital of the Mexican Republic, where such couples are now legally accepted .

The event was organized by Jesus Rosales and Jose Angel Zatarain, both of the legendary bar El Taurino Bar, now called Taurino-VIP. They combined this demonstration with the first anniversary of the new concept of the bar.

Lorenzo Herrera, a principal spokesperson for the gay community and anti-HIV activist also thanked Mr. Julian Leyzaola Pérez, local government authorities, for their assistance to the organization facilitates the Relief Fund for AIDS A. C., Local government in Tijuana granted the security clearance for this caravan of vehicles, which numbered up to 50, giving a twist to this march in defense of the rights of a large GLBT community the Baja California region.
